Climate Change Day of Action info and updates

Momentum continues to grow for ClimateUSA’s second International Day of Climate Action on November 4th. So far, 71 organizations have endorsed the action (including the Alliance for Democracy), and there are planned events in at least 35 communities in the US, plus a “Bright Idea! Lights Out!” action that you can do at home.

Click here to see if there is a climate action planned for your community. And take part in the “Bright Idea! Lights Out! Initiative. Simply turn out your lights from 7 to 8 p.m. on Saturday and put a candle in the window. Send a message to government, power companies, the media and your community that clean, renewable energy is the way to go. Download a flier and other info here.

US actions support the November 6-17th United Nations Climate Change Conference in Nairobi. Internationally, actions are planned in 48 countries, more than twice as many as last year. For info, see www.globalclimatecampaign.org
Also, watch for a new film on climate change opening nationally today. “The Great Warming” is based on the book “Storm Warning: Gambling with the Climate of our Planet", by Lydia Dotto. It shows effects of global warming across the planet, and includes commentary from scientists and activists. It also highlights the emergence of evangelicals urging action on climate change. The film was produced by Canada's Stonehaven Productions, and is certified carbon neutral! For more info, see www.thegreatwarming.com
