Iowa is the future of post-Citizens United politics

Toward the end of this clip from today's edition of Democracy Now, John Nichols, blogger and writer for The Nation, totes up the spending by candidates and superPACs in Iowa and estimates that it works out to about $200 per vote cast, most of it going to broadcast last-minute negative ads. That's just one reason why anti-corporate personhood advocates will be attending both Democratic and Republican caucuses this evening in hopes of passing Move to Amend resolutions calling for an amendment overturning the Citizens United decision, and allowing for the re-regulation of campaign spending.
