New Hampshire Public Funding Commission Seeks Public Input

The New Hampshire Commission to Study Public Funding of Campaigns has invited public input on state funding for local campaigns through a website developed by Demos: A Network for Ideas and Action. (Demos's Democracy Program Director Stuart Comstock-Gay, who lives in Concord, NH, is a member of the Commission.) The solicitation follows a public hearing in early September, where legislators and members of the public provided testimony about the importance of adopting public financing in New Hampshire. The Commission is holding weekly meetings to better understand the cost of running in the state, which are also announced on the site. They are investigating different models of public financing and funding mechanisms, and will be issuing a report in December.
